Washington DC
Cherry Blossoms in Washington DC have been on my radar for years. We have ventured to DC a few times together as a family but the timing has never been right to catch the blossoms in full bloom. We always seem to miss the blossoms by only weeks every time. This year spring break was a week earlier than last year so we were hoping that since we were going earlier than we typically do and it was a milder winter, the trees might be as ready for spring as I was and we would finally get to see those Beautiful Blossoms.
I was pretty anxious to see the blossoms so that of course was our first stop. Tital Basin is one of the prettiest places to walk around and view the blossoms. The cherry blossoms line the water front walkways for miles. It is so beautiful. They also offer paddle boats you can rent to get the best views while paddling around the water.
The Monuments can keep you busy for days but a family favorite of ours is the Lincoln memorial. He is just my absolute favorite. I love everything that honest Abe stood for and they did a beautiful job honoring his legacy. Not to mention the views from the front stairs of the Lincoln to the Washington Monument are just incredible. (especially at night)
We also love walking around City Center shopping center and browse the new shops going in. This year they had all of these beautiful pink lanterns on display. I don't know if they are just seasonal/temporary but if you are planning a trip, its a really fun place to take a picture or wander around.
